Prayers for good luck are answered: Cal waxes Stanford

What a great weekend this has been. Started Friday afternoon at the players lunch at the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club. About 150 ex-players / friends showed up…the same stories are told of coaches, games, recruiting incidents. Pictured are Bob Sarlotte (http://www.bobsarlatte.com/)  and Ed White. Bob played defensive line and kept us entertained before team meetings imitating all of the coaches. Today he’s a professional comedian. Ed White was All-America at Cal, NFL arm wrestling champion as well as being all-pro.

Then on to Fenton’s Creamery  (http://www.fentonscreamery.com/)  for a Black and Tan substituting milk swiss chocolate for vanilla ice cream. There is no better Sundae in the world…for me!

I then drove up to Stockto and spent the night w/ my folks. They are both in great health and it is always a joy to be with them. Saturday morning back to Berkeley for tailgate parties and the game. This has turned out to be such a good weekend that whether Cal wins or loses (this was their 111th game) it really doesn’t matter because of all the other good things that happen this weekend. As it turned ut though Cal did get lucky and beat a good Stanford team (beat Oregon State, Arizona and barely lost to USC).Cal was very luckyA typical welcome from Mom & Dad
