More Thoughts on Malyasia

Tom and I did our final Externally Focused day-long Conference on the Island of Pinang–great place. Before leaving town we met with Edmond and Chen See Chan. Edmond is a very su

Churches have adopted eight of these units, have started a medical clinic and have created jobs for these disenfranchised folks. On the day of our visit the Chan’s living room was filled with food and goods for their community center at the Rifle Range. Edmond made the point that legall

While at Pinang we visited the Baptist Seminary and met the maintenance man who, after visiting the Indian families at the Rifle Range and assumed the responsibilities as their pastor. His believing community now numbers over close to a hundred. Is he a maintenance man who is a pastor or is he a pastor who is a maintenance man? He is certainly living missionally.

After doing three Externally Focused Church Conferences in Malaysia our hosts flew us to the island of Borneo to the city of Kuching in Sarawak for one day. We visited Sarawak Village (these folks were headhunters before becoming Christ followers) where we met some darling children from the local Muslim School and also got to try out shooting a blowpipe. I hit the Coke can 3/3 from 30 feet. Not bad…shows I might be able to survive eating monkey meat in the jungle…if lost…if I had a blowpipe…if I had poison darts.
