Rick Warren in Mexico City

I’m now back at the airport awaiting my Denver flight. A couple of cool events with Rick Warren. A couple nights ago Rick spoke to  50 or so business and political leaders at the Nikko Hotel. Rick is classic! This is the last stop of a 30 day Latin America tour. After he spoke for over an hour and a half (translation is half the equation), he stuck around for another hour for pictures and book signings…and the books were free. This meeting was organized by Joe Cross, Craig Johring and the talented, though sparce, leadership team. These folks are doing a great job, meeting and connecting leaders around the city. Until I can figure how to add a caption, this picture is of Sam Williams, Rick Warren and me. The last guys Rick had his arms around before Obama and McCain at his Civil Forum (8/16/08) were Sam and me. Go figure. Below is a picture of the man we mistook for Rick Warren and had our picture taken with him….

Sam and Eric with man mistaken for Rick WarrenBack in the 80’s Sam Williams and Rick shared the platform together with many churches in the So. Baptist convention in California and it was fun to see them catching up together.

Yesterday from 9-1 (meeting actually started at 10:30) Rick spoke to a couple thousand folks at Mexico’s World Trade Center on the PEACE plan. It was all well-received and really is a plan that makes a lot of practical sense.

Agustin, Lupita, Edith, Sam and meAfter Rick finished Sam and I went to lunch with Agustin and Lupita Garduno–dear friends with Campus Crusade, along with their daughter Edith…just a great, long, lunch at La Mansion that one hated to see come to an end. I had one of the best ribeye steaks that I’ve ever had!Best Ribeye Ever\
