Missional Renaissance Group 2

Today Reggie McNeal and I launched the first gathering of our second group of Missional Renaissance Leadership Community folks. We call this “Missional Renaissance” because first, it is a rebirth of missional thinking and second, just how the Renaissance came about. In The Medicci Effect, Johannson puts forth the theory that in the 15th century the wealthy Italian banking family, the Mediccis brought in the best painters, sculptors, architects, mathematicians, etc and it was through their cross-domain learning that they discovered breakthrough ways of thinking. In fact it was through the exchange of ideas that actually caused the Renaissance.

This leadership community is different than other communities LN offers. This LC has not only senior pastors but business leaders, city officials, leaders of non-profits, etc. Its a great mix that we have here. The first exercise these folks do is look through a series of Renaissance paintings and decide which one(s) best represent their city. It’s a great exercise. And of course Reggie McNeal is an absolute stitch. Just great to be here.
